On May 1st 2007, Surrealism will take part of the greatest guitar concert in the world "Thanks Jimi Festival 2007" through internet. The festival is situated in the city of Wroclaw in south-western Poland. The past year 1581 guitarists played Jimi Hendrix "Hey Joe" and broke the old Guinness world record as the greatest rock orchestra in the world. The festival were supervised by representatives from Guinness World Records and the american guitar magazine Guitar Player.

Leszek Cichonski, one of Polands premier guitarists and the initiator of the event, had by his side among others Clas Yngström with Sky High (Sweden) and Hiram Bullock (USA).
We hope we get support from our friends from Tunaskolan and all other guitarists who want to take part of this exciting project. The song that will be played is Jimi Hendrix "Hey Joe".
Soon we will come with more information about the chord analysis, where the first rehearsal together will take place etc. Follow the news and check out the section "Thanks Jimi Festival" on our site!
This is the first time ever someone take part of "Thanks Jimi Festival" through internet in Sweden!

Tuesdays World Guitar Day went quite well. Alright, we had some internet problems so the video like paused and so on and therefor we didn't sound very well all together. But on the video it sounds not too bad but almost everybody got weird facial expressions. Thanks to the 26 guitarists who showed up!
Special thanks to:
Henrik Foung
Håkan Lagerquist
Tomas Lindvall
Michal Tomaszek
Romuald "Romek" Frey
who has helped us in our project!
And of course Leszek Cichonski who started the whole thing.

Tomorrow (thursday 19/4) a new rehearsal will take place in the music-classroom at Tunaskolan at 17.30. It would be good if you can use your own guitars but I think you can borrow of the school if you need to.
P.S Sorry for being late with posting this information!
14/4-07
The first rehearsal, which we had in thursday this week (12/4) went really good. Quite few project members showed up, and we hope more will show up on the next rehearsal (date will come soon). Look out the pictures in the pricture area!
26/3-07
Some dates have been settled today.
Wednesday 28/3 a guitar lession for those who want help to learn "Hey Joe" will take place 15.45 in the "music-teaching-room" at Tunaskolan. But if we will be to many for the capacity of the "music-teaching-room" we will be in the assembly hall of Tunaskolan. If we are in the "music-teaching-room", we can borrow guitars from the school, but if we're in the aula, you have to take your own guitars with you! The lession will last for about an hour.
Thursday 12/4 is the day for the first common rehearsal. It begins at 17.30 in Tunaskolan's assembly hall. This repetition will last for an hour, maybe 1,5 hour. This time everybody have to use their own guitars, if you don't have any, maybe you can borrow one from a friend!
18/3-07
It's not just Sweden that will take part of the festival through internet, guitarists from Brasil, Macedonia, Slovenia, Holland and from cities like New York, Moscow and Berlin has shown interest in the event to.
18/3-07
Guitar Player Magazine has confirmed their surveillance and launch of the event in the USA, and thinks the idea is great!
